EVOLUTION OF THE SCHOOLS & ITS PURPOSE
Education aims at the rearing up of disciplined, efficient and God fearing citizens. All the above qualities are of paramount importance as far as individual as well as national life is concerned. The need of the hour is to bring up good citizens; who would put others interests before their own interests and would willingly contribute their mite for the well being of the fellow citizens. It is with these noble ideals in mind that the school was founded in June 1965 by Chevalier T THOMAS, the Founder. To impart quality education to the children of the lower middle class families in an area like North Madras is another objective of the school.
St. Mary's Nursery and Primary school, Kodungaiyur was started on June 10th 1999. This is the sixth year since its inception and the school is recognised under the Tamil Nadu Board. There are classes from L.K.G. to std V with efficient and dedicated teachers. A well equipped computer lab and library facilities are also set up to feed children with useful information.

CHEVALIER T THOMAS EDUCATIONAL TRUST ( A Public Charitable Trust (Regd.) ) The school is run under Chevalier T Thomas Educational Trust (Regd.), a public Charitable Trust, started by Chev. T Thomas the Founder. This Trust is a leading Educational agency which already has its fold four recognised leading institutions in Chennai - a Matric Boys' Hr. Sec. School and a Matric Girls' Hr. Sec. School in PERAMBUR, Chennai, a Matric Hr. Sec. School ( Co-educational ) at Redhills and a women's college in Perambur. The three schools are affiliated to the Matriculation & Hr. Sec. Boards of Govt. of Tamilnadu and the college is affiliated to the University of Madras. The management also runs a full fledged Sr. Sec. School at Kottayam, Kerala which is affiliated to the Central Board of sec. Education. New Delhi.
The object of the Trust is to establish and manage Educational institutions of high standard and to serve the society and nation by helping the needy and deserving students irrespective of Caste, Community, Creed or Religion.
